Thermal Grizzly TG Shield is a conformal coating made to protect the surface-mounted devices, such as capacitors, on the PCB of a component. Most often, it is used to protect capacitors around CPU or GPU dies while using liquid metal.
A thicker application is recommended to coat the SMDs fully, but not too thick to cause mounting issues. So, even in the case of liquid metal spilling over these components, it will not cause an electrical short and damage the components.
